Greene and Columbia Counties oldest all-female choral group, The Treble Choraliers, presents its 67th winter concert on Friday, December 7 at 7:30 pm at the Catskill United Methodist Church. As we have done since our founding in 1951, The Treble Choraliers showcase the richness and versatility of the female voice. Our thirty-plus members, under the direction of Julie Carney, present a wide selection of holiday and seasonal music. From Praetorius and Luther to Walker and Frost, songs en francaise and those sung in Ladino, songs of the Solstice and those from the manger, the Choraliers promise their audience a wonderful listening experience. We will be joined at our concert by our guest artists The Hudson River Bells a handbell choir from Athens, NY. An Afterglow reception immediately follows the concert.
For the last several years as part of our community outreach, the Choraliers have presented a “mini-concert” at the Fireman’s Home in Hudson. We perform about 2/3 of our concert program for the Home’s residents and staff. This event provides us an opportunity to polish and tighten up our performance, and it allows those who may be unable to join us in Catskill, a chance to hear some lovely choral singing. The Choraliers will also participate in this year’s Winter Walk in Hudson on December 1st.
Tickets for the December 7th concert are available through sponsorship of our group or may be purchased at the door on concert night for $10. For ticket or sponsorship information, or to learn more about the Treble Choraliers, please call Lori at 518-943-1030. Check out our website (www.treblechoraliers.org) and like us on Facebook.
These programs are made possible, in part, with public funds from the Decentralization Program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature, administered through the Community Arts Grants Fund in Greene County by the Greene County Council on the Arts.
Best news: For those who were unable to attend our Spring 2017 concert or who want to experience it again, here’s a link to our concert video (very well produced by Lance Wheeler Video):
